Together for Safer Roads Honors David Harkey of IIHS/HLDI and Morgan Lovett of Liberty Disposal with 2026 Vision Zero Awards; Leaders Recognized for Contributions to Road and Fleet Safety at TSR’s Annual Member Reception

New York, NY (September 17, 2026) — Together for Safer Roads (TSR), a global NGO committed to saving lives and preventing serious injuries by strengthening fleet safety worldwide, recognized two outstanding leaders with the 2026 Vision Zero Awards during its Annual Member Reception in New York City on September 10, 2026.

David Harkey, Ph.D., President of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety | Highway Loss Data Institute, received the Global Vision Zero Leadership Award.

Morgan Lovett, Safety & Compliance Manager at Liberty Disposal, Inc., received the Lenin Fierro Vision Zero Fleet Advocacy Award. The award, presented in partnership with the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), honors the legacy of longtime DCAS fleet safety champion Lenin Fierro.

The awards were presented during TSR’s Annual Member Reception on September 10. The reception brings together members and partners from across the global fleet safety community to recognize the leadership and partnerships that drive meaningful progress on road safety.

About the Global Vision Zero Leadership Award and Lenin Fierro Vision Zero Fleet Advocacy Award

The Global Vision Zero Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a leadership role in the global Vision Zero movement by making commitments to help eliminate serious traffic-related injuries and deaths.

The Lenin Fierro Vision Zero Fleet Advocacy Award is presented to an individual who has the leadership, positivity, commitment, approachability and personal dedication to transforming organizations toward the goals of Vision Zero. Named in honor of the late Lenin Fierro, a former New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) employee and long-time champion for fleet safety, the award is presented annually to an individual whose leadership, positivity, commitment, approachability and personal dedication help transform organizations toward the goals of Vision Zero.
